CanYaCoin Charity Pool
CanYa is pleased to announce our first round of community votes to help allocate the charity pool promised in our whitepaper.
As outlined in the CanYaCoin Asset Contract, we will donate 10% of the unsold tokens from our ICO to a charity pool. The charity pool is intended to go towards charitable organisations, to support for-purpose projects in the Web3 space, and to contribute to education in software development to support the growth of the blockchain and Web3 projects.
We have already committed an allocation of tokens to the incredible Giveth not-for-profit, which is enabling transparency in charitable donations using blockchain technology.
April Community Vote
This month, we are excited to invite our community to vote on which project you would like to donate 100,000 CAN tokens to!
In the spirit of sharing the generosity, one lucky voter will be chosen at random to win a CanYa Ledger Hard Wallet!
CanYa as an organisation believes in the pay-it-forward concept. When the CanYa platform launches, we will also be committing 10% of all fees to the charity pool (which are only 1%, compared to up to 20% fees of competitors).
The shortlisted causes:
Lykke Tree Coin
Blockchain startup Lykke has partnered with World International Foundation (WIF) to launch the world’s first mangrove backed cryptocurrency.
According to WIF founder Dr. Arne Fjortoft, “the urgent need to restore at least 20% of the world’s mangrove forests was among the key issues of the June 2016 United Nations Ocean Conference. Mangroves are nature’s most promising solution to combatting the impacts of sea level rise, maintaining healthy shorelines and water quality for coral reefs and seagrass, as well as other valuable ecosystem services.”
AidCoin is an Ethereum token that aims to become the preferred method to donate transparently through the Ethereum blockchain. This means that all monies donated will be trackable through an open-source blockchain. The AID token will power AIDChain, a platform that provides an ecosystem of services through an easy-to-use interface, connecting the non-profit community while allowing full transparency and traceability of donations.
Sponsorship towards local, community led Educational Meet-ups and Developer Workshops (in Australia)
CanYa is connected with and committed to supporting a network of local community leaders that self-organise around a mission to further the decentralised web eco-system in Australia, and globally. This is done through community meet-ups, developer workshops, and major hack-a-thons, connecting university students with the space, and hosting working groups around interdisciplinary topics.
The Ethereum Foundation’s mission is to promote and support the Ethereum platform and base layer research, development and education. This will bring decentralised protocols and tools to the world that empower developers to produce next-generation decentralised applications and together build a more globally accessible, freer and more trustworthy Internet.
Voting will occur throughout April, with the winner announced at the end of the month.
