Newsletter #4

Hello from our CEO

Again it’s been an incredibly busy period; hiring and training up the team (we now have 25 full time staff (not including community moderators) as well as getting into a weekly release cycle for our CANApps. The team has released four CANApps (decentralised applications in the CanYa ecosystem) as well as full crypto integration in Bountysource.com. We have signed on additional partners, was listed on another exchange and have participated in conferences all around the world. We ran a hackathon, participated BlockEngine’s blockchain startups in Melbourne and donated our first tranche of CAN to our charity partners.

Our team is incredibly focused to build up a decentralised ecosystem for peer-peer services and we have a lot of exciting things on the horizon; with more CANApp releases, more partners and more contributions to the community. The CanYa team is very happy to be supported by our fantastic community, and will continue to boldly build and show the world how decentralised technologies will disrupt legacy business models and return value to users.

Development Updates:

canya_alpha_ready

The CanYa Alpha:

On the 20th of April 2018 the CanYa Alpha was launched to the community! Anyone in the world can now find, book and pay for digital services with our 20 Pioneer providers.

The Pioneers were a group of 20 hand chosen, top quality digital service providers from all over the world. They are available to be booked for services and will help the development team build the best possible platform for the world of digital services.

You can watch how this YouTube creator got his channel’s graphics completely re-designed by using one of our awesome pioneers:

CanApps:

We want to create an entire suite of CanYa tools that can be used by our freelancers inside of the CanYa ecosystem. This will be achieved through our awesome CANApps. These apps are also designed to help newcomers navigate through the cryptocurrency space as one of CanYa’s goals is to help spread the meaningful adoption of cryptocurrency.

This month we launched the first four CANapps:

  • CANInvoice – A free, easy to use invoice creation tool for all CanYa users
  • CANStation – An easy to use tool to help people set the correct gas fees when interacting with the Ethereum network.
  • CANShare – (previously CANTransfer) – an amazing tool that uses IPFS to allow people to transfer large files (up to 100GB) across the internet free of charge!
  • CANTrack – Simple, effective, time management software that allows records to be kept immutably on the blockchain.

There are also many more exciting CANApps in the pipeline to be released over the coming months!

Bountysource by CanYa:

This month was also a massive milestone for Bountysource with the addition of crypto bounties and smart contract auditing to the platform! This is a massive space in today’s cryptocurrency market and Bountysource aims to leverage it’s 50,000 developer community and brand power to become the go-to place for crypto bounties and smart contract audits.

The Largest bounty in Bountysource History:

Education First has revived a three-year-old Mozilla bounty that has sat dormant on Bountysource.  The mammoth bounty immediately got traction in the community and as per writing this update developers are working around the clock on solutions.

This particular bug, the Mozilla Firefox WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communications) issue which relates to the lack of support for NTLM/Kerberos authentication in Firefox.  What this means in native English is that users are unable to capture & stream audio/visual media.

As progress continues we will update the community on both the solution and the process of the developers.  Bounties of this size are rare in the open-source community, and so naturally, they create intrigue when someone starts plotting a solution.

Given that we are huge supporters of an open-source future, we are very excited about the prospect of more large companies using services such as Bountysource to solve open-source software issues.  We will continue to update the community on the progress of one of the biggest open-source bounties in the world.

Community Updates:

Charity Winners

As outlined in the CanYaCoin Asset Contract, we will donate 10% of the unsold tokens from our ICO to a charity poolThe charity pool is intended to go towards charitable organisations, to support for-purpose projects in the Web3 space, and to contribute to education in software development to support the growth of the blockchain and Web3 projects.

The winner of the inaugural Charity Vote was AidCoin, coincidentally a project focused on making donations more transparent by linking the contribution to a blockchain.

The AidCoin solution is very important due to the social distrust with the allocation of charitable funds in recent times.  Charities have a tremendous role to play in the improvement of the most vulnerable, but it will only be a viable method if people can be assured that their money is getting to the places and causes it was intended to go.

We are delighted to help power the AIDChain platform as it aims to make the nonprofit sector more transparent.

Binance Dexathon:

This month CanYa also hosted a Dexathon with our good friends Type Human and Consensys to solve the Binance hackathon problem of creating a truly decentralised exchange. We had a great turn out amongst the Melbourne blockchain development community and some very impressive solutions were proposed and potentially some will be implemented!

The weekend refreshments were taken care of by the legends at Young Henry’s who kept everyone sane as they worked deep into the night all weekend.

CanYa Platform Update #1

We now have our 20 CanYa Pioneers!

Our Pioneers are crucial to the launch of the CanYa platform. We rely upon these world-class digital service providers to establish the standard for profiles in CanYa. Out of hundreds of applications, we have interviewed, vetted and selected 20 of the best freelancers in the world! To meet them all, head to the CanYa Telegram Announcements Channel and you will see a short introduction about each of them.

Our CanYa Pioneers cover the following categories:

  • Writer: 3
  • Photographer: 1
  • Developers: 9
  • Advertising Strategists: 1
  • Art-director: 2
  • UX Designers: 2
  • Data analyst: 1
  • Biologist: 1

Progress on the CanYa Platform?

uPort Error:

Eleven of the twenty Pioneers have set up their profiles. The remaining nine pioneers have been delayed in setting up their profiles due to a universal uPort error. CanYa utilises uPort as a third-party log-in service so that we (or third parties like Google / Facebook) cannot sell or use your data. Your personal data is owned by you and kept securely on the blockchain.

CanYa_Blog_Content_self-sovereign.png

Our focus on self-sovereign identity (user owned and controlled identity) has been strengthened by the recent sentiments towards Facebook and Google with regards to their data issues. Decentralised self-sovereign identity is also in line with our long-term plan of building a completely decentralised ecosystem.

Note: We recommend everyone downloads uPort to their smartphone and establishes a profile in preparation for signing up to CanYa!

Is the error fixed?

Yes; the CanYa Dev Team worked tirelessly with the dev team at uPort and the problem has now been resolved!

CanYa_uport_bug.png

The CanYa team also worked around the clock to build a native log-in process to act as a back-up for future. The Dev team will also explore other third-party, secure, log-in options for more redundancy in the future. This problem has shown us the importance of ensuring a seamless user-journey and because of this we are also going to build our own native blockchain identity tool as part of our suite of ‘CanYa Apps’ called CanID (more on CanYa Apps later).

Unfortunately the uPort bug has meant that the pioneer on-boarding and set up has been affected such that it has pushed back our timeline by at least a week. More on how we will rectify this below.

You can view the uPort bug here on GitHub: https://github.com/uport-project/uport-connect/issues/114

The CanYa DAO

The team have quietly been hard-at-work and have already released the first version of the CanYa DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation)! This level of decentralisation was not due until the end of this year but the team decided to accelerate the focus to ensure it’s integration is paramount from the very beginning.

CanYa alpha platform the first working DAO
The CanYa DAO

Above is a screenshot of the CanYa DAO. It will be slowly rolled out to the moderators and then the wider community to start handling aspects of the CanYa platform and move CanYa to a fully decentralised entity.

Those helping with the DAO will be economically incentivised with $CAN. We will take our time with this process to ensure an adequate solution is found for platform users. This is brand new territory for any business and CanYa is leading the way!

So when does the community get to see the platform?!

We understand that the community feel the Pioneer / Alpha launch iteration was not communicated well by the team. Building a brand new platform in the spotlight is a unique position to be in but it is the reality for any ICO project.

We endeavour to communicate all developments as early as possible! We currently have our development team working on an updated, thoroughly detailed and live roadmap that we will feature on our website for development of the CanYa Platform over the next 6 months.

CanYa_Blog_Content_building.png

Our updated roadmap will go a long way to strengthening the mutual-trust we have with our community. We cannot promise that there will not be delays (as we have just experienced with uPort) but we can promise to be transparent about these with the community.

As stated earlier, the uPort issue has put us behind schedule from where we would like to be. However, we want to bring the CanYa Community on this journey with us so the CanYa Alpha platform will be opened to all $CAN supporters from Friday 20th April!

To view the platform you will need 100 CAN in a MetaMask account while using the platform. Anyone that meets this caveat will be able to view, book and pay our CanYa Pioneers.

I’m a provider when can I sign up?

The first 100 providers following our 20 CanYa Pioneers will still be curated and controlled via the CanYa DAO. We already have hundreds of applicants and we start on boarding them this week.

To register to become a provider you can apply on the website.

CanYa Apps

We are incredibly excited about our CanYa Apps and we will detail each CanYa App more thoroughly in the coming weeks. The aim is for CanYa to offer the full suite of services that any freelancer in today’s world could need. This creates a greater value proposition for the CanYa ecosystem and generates longer and more frequent engagement for all of our users. At this stage we are aiming to release a new CanYa App every month!

CANInvoice

An easily manipulated invoice template for all of our freelancers to provide clean, professional and accurate invoices for their work.

CanYa25

A very exciting decentralised ‘kickstarter’ program for future CanYa freelancers. Do you have great ideas but you’re not sure it will work? Maybe you live in a country with no access to traditional finances to start your new online business? Here’s where CanYa 25 comes in!

Budding freelancers can pitch their ideas and the CanYa community can donate $CAN to their cause. The $CAN is held in escrow until it reaches 25,000 CAN. Once this occurs the $CAN is sent to the freelancer to be used to start their very own business on the CanYa platform.

CanYa_hero_Can25

This program has huge potential and is inline with the ethos of CanYa being the world’s truly global services platform. CanYa will empower freelancers from everywhere in the world that were traditionally excluded from exisiting platforms due to access to traditional finance institutions. CanYa 25 is an extension of this sentiment.

When will it be ready?

Ready soon. We will launch our first CanYa 25 competition in June 2018!

Conclusion

CanYa is breaking new ground every day. We are at the leading edge of what is possible with decentralised technology. We are incredibly excited to share the CanYa Alpha with all of our community this Friday. Together we can truly build something great.

The CanYa team will also release a high fidelity, live, dev roadmap so our community is better informed in the future.

We are looking forward to changing the world together!

Newsletter #3

Hello from our CEO

“We are now well and truly into 2018 – the year that blockchain teams need to deliver a product to their users. Firstly because they promised their token-holders they would do that, and secondly because collectively we need to “cross the chasm” and accelerate the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.

At CanYa we are laser-focused on product delivery and we are very close to releasing our Alpha CanYa web-app on main-net. The CanYa dev team, led by our superstar CTO, Juan, have built an incredibly innovative platform that pulls together cutting edge technology in a brilliant way.

We strongly believe we have the most advanced decentralised applications ever built – already. We will continue to work on this in order to realise our vision. The team are also building a host of free online tools that we will release to the wider community to drive value to our ecosystem, as well as the wider crypto ecosystem.”

HODL club has had its first successful Airdrop!

newsletter3_hodl

355,000 CAN tokens have been sent to our most loyal supporters; the CanYa HODLers.

The aim of the CanYa HODL club is to get as many long-term believers of the CanYaCoin Token together in an exclusive group while also rewarding them for their loyalty with air-dropped tokens from CanYa and our partners.

There are two tiers to the HODL club:

HODL OGs:

These are our awesome original members from the ICO and people that have entered post ICO with 10,000 CAN or more. They will be randomly air-dropped the 2 million CAN tokens over 6 months.

Anyone entering the OG HODL tier post ICO will have to wait 45 days before being an approved member. This is our ‘proof of HODL test‘. You will not be eligible for any air-drops or perks from the HODL club while waiting to be approved. If you are eligible you can register for the club via the HODL website (https://hodl.canya.com/)

HODL OG for CanYaCoin long term HODLers

HODL Tier 2

Tier 2 HODLers can enter the HODL club with 2,500 CAN or more. They will be air-dropped 500k CAN tokens over 6 months at random intervals.

To enter Tier 2 you will need 2,500 CAN tokens or more. Once you have 2,500 CAN tokens you can apply via the website (https://hodl.canya.com/). You will then need to wait 45 days to prove you are a true HODLer before you are entered into the club.

Notes:

  • Specifics of the CanYa HODL Club can be found at this blog.

We are now listed on Lykke, Gatecoin and Coinspot!

On the back of a terrific few weeks of announcements, the number of exchanges that now list our token is increasing rapidly.  Exposure to prominent exchanges is a critical part of a tokens development and trading volume. This is why we are very excited to announce that we are now listed on Lykke, Gatecoin and Australia’s own Coinspot!

Artboard 3@2x.png

This is a tremendous result for CanYa, and highlights the amount of work that our executive team is doing behind the scenes to drive the platform forward.  Many would not realise that the process of being added to an exchange can be quite arduous, and with good reason.  In order to ensure the integrity of the exchanges, tokens must be vetted in fine-detail to ensure that they meet the standards expected in metrics such as KYC and company structure.

CanYa, of course, is compliant with the standards of every exchange in the world.  However, this does not take-away from the due-diligence and work required to broker these arrangements.

Needless to say, we are chuffed with the progress and hope to announce more exchange partnerships in the coming weeks and months.

Asia-Pacific Meeting

CanYa was also represented by JP Asia-Pacific Ethereum Meet-up which took place in Thailand. The trip itself was a whirlwind; both of the ideas presented and the compressed schedule. However, it was incredibly beneficial gathering, where CanYa was able to share our progress and hear ideas with the inner circle of Ethereum.

newsletter3_thailand.png
The keynote speech was of course done by Vitalik, and he spoke about how some of the crypto-economic ideas used to build blockchains, could also be applied to make the internet “less broken.”

Also present were:

  • Managing Director of OmiseGo Vansa Chatikavanij
  • OMG Plasma Researcher David Knott
  • Head of Research at AlphaShisen Luo
  • Core Developer of MakerDAO, Niklas Kungel; and,
  • a host of other blockchain luminaries.

The meet-up was designed to promote technology exchange between Ethereum developers and community members, as well as an opportunity to get to know more about local Ethereum-based projects.

This was a great opportunity to hear about the progress of other projects in our corner of the world, but also a great platform for CanYa to update the community on the great strides we are making; specifically with the purchase of BountysourceuPort secure sign-in’s, the CanYa bot, and our platform search engine.

BountySource Update

After two months of hard work the CanYa team were happy to announce that Bountysource has been completely refreshed as step 1 of the exciting roadmap ahead.  Along with the UI/UX refresh, a number of fundamental behind the scenes issues have been improved and introduced to truly reclaim the crown as the biggest and best source for posting and completing coding bounties!

newsletter3_bountysource.png.png

The core functionality of the platform has remained the same.  However, huge efforts have been made to improve the user experience of the website by doing the following:

  1. Actively clearing the cash-out backlog, the majority of customers will now have their cash-outs
  2. Future PayPal cashouts should be processed within 48hrs
  3. Existing support tickets cleared and a commitment in place to answer future tickets within 1 business day
  4. 5 full time developers put on the team to reinvigorate platform and start executing new road map.
  5. New & modern UI/UX

With clients such as IBM, Facebook and Ripple already using the platform, Bountysource has huge industry backing and immense potential.  Moving forward, it is hoped that the changes made both re-engage the 48,000 registered users as well as offering more flexibility to complete bounties for companies and programmers alike.

You can follow the progress of our updates in real-time on the Bountysource github:  https://github.com/bountysource/core/issues.

So what’s next for Bountysource?

The CanYa team have huge plans ahead for Bountysource. Phase 1 is now complete and the team are now well and truly working in Phase 2. Our crypto portal is also underway which we are particularly excited about!

Phase 1:

  • Stand up dev & customer support team
  • Fix outstanding critical bugs and support ticket backlog
  • Refresh the platform UI/UX

Phase 2:

  • Fix remaining issues
  • Begin design and foundation work on cryptocurrency portal (Crypto bounties and smart contracting audits etc)
  • Integrate $CAN as a payment option
  • ‘Bountysource teams’ integration (collaborative bounty hunters)
  • Personalised profiles that can be cross ported to CanYa

Phase 3 & beyond:

  • Release crypto portal – crypto project bounties, smart contract auditing and much more (powered by the $CAN token) – Huge opportunity!
  • ‘Bountysource hire’ – ability to hire developers for short term contracts (ideal for development sprints)
  • Security bounties added

CanYa and CanYaCoin powering the platform that lets your work remotely like a digital nomad

Final words on the Bountysource Reskin

Bountysource has an incredibly strong brand name throughout the open source and development community. This identity and vision allowed it to grow the user-base to 48,000 passionate developers. CanYa is pushing this vision forward and adding a suite of new features to grow the platform’s use case into the future.

The move into crypto based bounties and audits is particularly exciting. This will make Bountysource a true cornerstone of the blockchain & ICO development process. This side of Bountysource will also be powered by the $CAN token to further its use case, real world application and volume. These are exciting times for Bountysource and CanYa and we are looking forward to having you all along for the journey!

CanYa HODL Club

The CanYa HODL Club

The CanYa team have been working tirelessly since the ICO to build the CanYa platform. CanYa is a long term project that will completely revolutionise the way we all book and pay for services. We want as many people from the community with us on this journey which is why we created the CanYa HODL club.

The aim of the CanYa HODL club is to get as many long term believers of the CanYaCoin Token together in an exclusive group while also rewarding them for their loyalty with air-dropped tokens from CanYa and our partners.

You can sign up for the HODL club at hodl.canya.com

The CanYa 2.0 platform will include features like the CanYaCall and more

Our team is dedicated to demonstrating the benefits of cryptocurrency payment and token-economics to marketplace businesses. We don’t want to see ICOs over-promise and under-deliver. We also don’t want to see ICO tokens get dumped on exchanges at the earliest time possible so people can make a quick buck.

CanYa is actively building out our project and we’re here for the long-term. We want our ICO contributors to be with us all the way and to be rewarded for it.

There are two tiers to the HODL club:

HODL OGs:

CanYa_Featured-Images-HODL-OG-rocket.jpg

These are our awesome original members from the ICO and people that have entered post ICO with 10,000 CAN or more. They will be randomly air-dropped the 2 million CAN tokens over 6 months.

Anyone entering the OG HODL tier post ICO will have to wait 45 days before being an approved member. This is our ‘proof of HODL test‘. You will not be eligible for any air-drops or perks from the HODL club while waiting to be approved. If you are eligible you can register for the club via the HODL website (https://hodl.canya.com/)

HODL Tier 2

CanYa_Featured-Images-HODLers-Rocket.jpg

Tier 2 HODLers can enter the HODL club with 2,500 CAN or more. They will be air-dropped 500k CAN tokens over 6 months at random intervals.

To enter Tier 2 you will need 2,500 CAN tokens or more. Once you have 2,500 CAN tokens you can apply via the website (https://hodl.canya.com/). You will then need to wait 45 days to prove you are a true HODLer before you are entered into the club.

Notes:

  • If you have 10,000 CAN or more please apply for the HODL OG.
  • In each tier, the amount received will be proportionate to your account balance as against the total holding in that tier.
For example, one member in the OG Tier has 10,000 CAN and another has 20,000 CAN; the 20,000 CAN member will receive twice as many tokens as the 10,000 CAN member.
  • All air dropped tokens need to stay in the registered address for you to remain in the HODL club.
  • Any HODLer can buy and add tokens to their account at any time. They just can’t remove tokens from their account.
  • If you are a substantive member of HODLer T2 and you add enough tokens (or the airdrop tips you over) to exceed the 10,000 CAN required for HODLer OG, you will go into the 45 day waiting list for OG. You will remain a substantive member of HODLer T2 for this time. One important note is that only 9999 of your CAN tokens will be counted for air drops while you are in T2 and waiting for entry to the OG tier. This is to stop someone gaming the system and skewing air-drop numbers away from the smaller HODL accounts.

What are the benefits of being in the HODL Club?

Short term:

OG HOLDers:

Over the next 6 months CanYa OG HODL club members will be air-dropped 2 million CAN tokens at random times. OG HODLers will also be air-dropped our partners tokens over this time frame (partner token air-drops will only be available for OG HODLers). You will also be part of an awesome community via our HODL website and invite only Discord channel.

OG HODLers will also get access to exclusive CanYa merchandise via raffle (this is in addition to the raffles for merchandise that is available to all HODLers).

Tier 2 HODLers:

Over the next 6 months tier 2 will be air-dropped 500,000 CAN tokens at random times. You will also be part of an awesome community via our HODL website and invite only Discord.

CanYa_Featured-Images-Airdrop-Distribution

Longer term:

Once a year, the rewards pool will air-drop a seperate amount of CAN tokens to each tier of the HODL club. This means the longer you are a member of the club, the higher your proportion of air-dropped tokens will be as people leave the club.

CanYa_Featured-Images-MERCH

We also plan to regularly raffle give-aways of CanYa merchandise such as CanYa Ledger Nano S wallets, minted CanYaCoins, clothing and more! Entry into these raffles are only available to members of the CanYa HODL Club (either OG or T2).

CAN HODL CLUB is great for the community
*Assuming the natural attrition of HODL Club members is as expected

CanYa Blockchain Conference:

All HODL club members (both OG and T2 members) will receive complimentary tickets to the annual CanYa blockchain conference (and party) to be held at a destination as voted by the HODL club members. If a conference can’t be conducted, we will purchase tickets to an alternative conference as voted by our HODLers.

CanYa_Featured-Images-Conference.jpg

So how do I join?

If you didn’t participate in the CanYaCoin ICO but want to join the CanYa HODL club, you will need to purchase 2500 CAN tokens (or 10,000 CAN tokens for OG status) from one of the exchanges that lists the CanYa token:

KuCoin (https://www.kucoin.com/#/trade.pro/CAN-ETH)

AEX  (https://www.aex.com/page/trade.html?mk_type=BTC&trade_coin_name=CAN)

xBrick (https://www.xbrick.io/trade.html?marketid=eth_can)

COSS (https://coss.io/)

Qryptos (https://www.qryptos.com/)

Cryptopia (https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange)

FatBTC (https://www.fatbtc.com/m/market/2)

CoinSpot (https://www.coinspot.com.au/buy/can)

BANCOR (https://www.bancor.network/communities/)

Many more exchanges will have CAN listed in the comings weeks, stay up to date on our CanYaCoin Announcements Telegram Channel.

After this you will need to head to the HODL club website and apply (https://hodl.canya.com/). After 45 days of successful HODLing (our Proof of HODL test) you will be added to the CanYa HODL Club. There is no need to apply if you have already been listed by our team for either status. Also, you do not actually need to apply to receive air-drops but you will need to apply so we can contact you if required, to get into our Discord and be eligible for merchandise giveaways!

CanYa HODL Club for the CAN ICO of over 5000CAN

Some examples to make things a little clearer:

Example 1:

I bought 10,000 CAN during the ICO (or on an exchange) and I have sold 7500 of the tokens. I have kept 2500 CAN to be in the HODL club. Does that mean I am in?

Answer: No. You sold your tokens and are therefore no longer an OG HODLer. However, as you have the 2500 CAN required for the new tier you can apply to join that tier. You will just need to wait 45 days after your tokens were stationary and submit an application to be a member of the club. You will not receive any air-dropped tokens until you are in the club.

(We suggest keeping a seperate HODL registered address and a trading address to make this easier when you apply to be audited)

Example 2:

I bought 2500 CAN during the ICO does that mean I am in?

Answer: No. When the rules were made during the ICO you needed 5000 CAN. However, you do now have enough CAN to apply to be in the Tier 2 HODL Club! You will need to wait the 45 days (Proof of HODL) from when your tokens were stationary until you are in. You will not receive air drops during this time. Please submit an application.

Example 3:

I have acquired 15,000 CAN from an exchange can I join the HODL OG tier?

Answer: Yes, as stated from pre-ICO anyone with 10,000CAN or greater can join. However, you will have to wait 45 days from your tokens hitting your wallet before you are allowed in. Please submit an application for the HODLer OG Club.

Lastly…

The rules of the CanYa HODL Club are basic; HODL your CAN tokens! If you move any CAN token out, you exit the CanYa HODL Club and lose access to all of the perks and privileges that come with the HODL Club. You can always ADD more CAN to your whitelisted ETH address but you can’t move them away.

If you move CAN out of your ETH address but you still qualify (eg: greater than 2500CAN), you can always reapply for the CanYa HODL Club and wait out the 45 days ‘Proof of HODL’ test.

If this sounds good and you want to join the HODL club and all it has to offer register at hodl.canya.com once you have the required amount of tokens!

CanYa Newsletter #2

Hello from the CEO

The start of February was a very busy time for the team. We continued our global roadshow, meeting partners at events in New Zealand, Australia, Korea, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Indonesia. We also secured partnerships with Bancor and Origin Protocol.

We have a few more exciting partnerships and initiatives to announce soon, which the team will continue to explain how they align with the CanYa roadmap and help you! The team is growing with now up to 26 team members to handle our growing operations. Our platform releases are on time and we can’t wait to share more details soon.

Our community is No. 1 – they got us voted onto FatBTC with over 700 retweets of their listing competition. As always, we are community-first and will be engaging our community with more competitions, announcements and giveaways. Keep the likes, comments and feedback coming!

Unsold CAN Tokens sent to Asset Contract

The token distribution is 100% complete and all remaining unsold CAN tokens have been sent to the Asset Contract as promised. For the full details on this you can read this blog.

The CanYaCoin Asset contract leads to 10% going to charity, 30% going to the CanYa Community, 30% going to CanYa and 30% being burned forever

As per the whitepaper and diagram above 13.91m unsold tokens were sent to the CanYa Asset Contract as such:

CanYa_Token_Split_Asset_Contract

Token Burn:

As promised, 30% of all tokens were burnt forever. This occurred after they were sent to the ETH contract address finishing in dEaD! Overall total supply is now 95,827,000 CAN tokens.

CanYa_Blog_Tokens_Burn

Changes in circulating supply

Some of you may have notice the circulating supply randomly changing on Coin Market Cap. This is due to the current formula where any tokens moving from the CanYa Operations wallet are added to the circulating supply.

For example when the tokens where sent from this wallet to be burnt they were added to the circulating supply. This issue has been brought to Coin Market Cap’s attention and we are in the process of bolstering this formula.

CanYa Development Update

CanYa Version 2. (codename: SHIFT) is coming soon!

Based on the learnings from our MVP and customer validation, we are integrating significant improvements for the coming version. Our aim is capacity for scale and reliability. We can’t wait to share it with you for feedback!

Goals for the next version:

Our key goals are to rebuild our service provider directory and re-engage providers. It’s time to get our providers to join the NEW CanYa and build their identity in the Blockchain.

Our initial target market is software developers, across all languages, website designers, graphic designers and UX and UI providers. If you fit this description, you need to be on CanYa!

Artboard 5.png

What’s new in CanYa SHIFT:

New design: CanYa gets a fresh new look! New colour palette and design, and a more responsive layout that we will keep improving in next versions. A redesigned interface with a clean, modern appearance and new visual elements, animations and effects.

Sign-in/Sign-up with uPort: Now you can join our platform by creating your identity on the Blockchain. It’s an easy, secure and simple way to register and login to our platform. And uPort is one of the first decentralised services that we will be using to build the decentralised CanYa.

CanYa Bot: Tell CanYa Bot what to do in different situations. E.g. create your profile, change colour schemes, add work to your portfolio, check CanYaCoin price, and more.

Profile customisation: Now you can set and choose between different colour schemes, you can add work to your portfolio, post comments and see the first version of our Reactions Engine. CanYa Reactions will allow our users to give feedback to create a transparent peer review system.

Search engine: A completely new search engine, designed to take full advantage of the content that our providers will add to their profiles, to find the right service provider for you.

And much more: Testing for decentralised services for the next release, special listings and featured providers.

Discord Channel

Due to popular demand from the community we have set up the CanYa discord channel. This is to complement our existing channels on Telegram, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Artboard 2.png

  • Arabic
  • Nordic
  • Russian
  • Chinese
  • Turkish
  • Vietnamese

HODL Group

Telegram does not allow you to create large private groups. With this in mind we have created our HODL private channel in Discord. This is a place for all HODLers to chat, vote, hear about the latest CanYa news and find out when HODL club air drops will be occurring.

Artboard 3.png

If you’re an OG HODLer and haven’t joined the group yet then please do so!

Earn.com

The CanYa team ran the biggest co-ordinated air drop in history thanks to our partners at earn.com.

The Telegram channel swelled to over 16,000 participants making it the biggest crypto telegram group in Australia!

These new members will be air-dropped their CAN tokens no later than the 15th of February and will be encouraged to buy more to join our awesome HODL club community.

CanYa_Featured-Images-Airdrop-Distribution

HODL Club

The HODL club members have been identified and notified. We have a total of 528 OG HODLers still in the club after the ICO ended. There are also a large number of applicants waiting the mandatory 45 days to join either of the two tiers of the HODL club.

The HODL club can be joined at any time with 10,000 CAN required to join the OG tier and 2500 CAN required to join tier 2. Once new applications are received they will be required to wait the mandatory 45 days as a ‘proof of HODL’ test.

You can apply for the HODL club by heading to our HODL club website: https://hodl.canya.com/

AirDrop

Artboard 4.png

The first HODL club airdrop (for all of our OG HODLers) will occur within the next fortnight!

Please join the HODL club discord channel if you have questions about this.

First Vote for HODL’ers

The first vote put out to our HODL club members will be what to officially name the two tiers of the HODL club. It’s your club so you should be able to decide what you want it to be called!

New HODL Club website

We are currently working on a new HODL club website that will make the application process completely automatic. You’ll also be able to see statistics, chat to your fellow HODLers and do a lot of other cool stuff!

Bountysource

Bountysource is the world’s first open source software development bounty platform. The work-plan is to refresh the platform, integrate a crypto CAN token payment layer, and re-energise and re-engage the 46,000+ user base, major partners, and everyone that needs open source bug bounty and auditing on their software!

Bountysource development team update

The team recently met in Malaysia to review progress on the Bountysource facelift and to firm up plans for future releases.

Bountysource powered by CanYa

The Bountysource logo and updated design will be be featured in the next release due in just a few weeks. In the meantime, the team is busy solving a few pain points reported by our loyal open-source community.

Lastly, we are pleased to report planning has begun on crypto bounties with development commencing very shortly.

Exchange News

FatBTC

FatBTC ran a twitter competition and our awesome community made their voice heard! We received a high number of votes and because of this FatBTC decided to list the CAN token for free! Thanks to all those who voted.

Bancor

While not a traditional exchange the Bancor listing will significantly help CAN token liquidity once it is in high demand from the Bountysource and CanYa 2.0 platforms. We are very pleased to be associated and listed on such a reputable platform.

CanYa_Featured-Images-Bancor

CanYa Updates

The CanYaCoin ICO was an amazing success and now we are fully focussed on executing the plan as per the roadmap detailed in the CanYaCoin Whitepaper.

CanYa roadmap to fulfilling the CanYaCoin ICO plan

This will be the first edition of our ‘Newsletter‘ that we will post on our social media channels and email every 2-4 weeks to keep our community up to date.

Post-CAN ICO Admin

100% Audit

This process is both time consuming and completely mandatory to ensure that CanYa can work with financial institutions and regulators in the future.

CanYa_Featured-Images-Audit

The main issue we are having is the lack of communications from CAN ICO participants.

If you have not received your CAN yet it is likely because you:

  • Participated in the pre-sale – These members have not received the second half of their CAN distribution because they haven’t confirmed their email and ETH address pairing.
  • Contributed from an exchange – These members contributed from known exchange ETH addresses and instead of sending their CAN to an exchange wallet (and likely losing it forever) we have put their CAN distribution on ‘HOLD’.
  • AltCoins’ – These members participated with currencies other than ETH (BTC/BCH/LTC/DASH). Due to issues with HD wallets (changing wallet addresses) and exchange wallets, we need for these members to confirm their transaction before we release their CAN.

We understand that the manual audit takes longer than a simple smart contract but it also would have meant that everyone that sent contributions from an exchange or a HD wallet would have lost their tokens forever. We feel the extra time is worth ensuring that those that are new to crypto and made a simple mistake didn’t lose their contribution and still got their CAN tokens!

In order to progress the audit and distribute all CAN tokens, we need these members to contact support@canya.com to resolve the outstanding issues.

CanYa Team on the Road

January has been a busy period for the CanYa Team. Our team has been attending cryptocurrency/blockchain conferences and exclusive invite-only blockchain meet-ups all over the world.

Since the end of the CAN ICO, we have been active in:

  • Utah – Peer Summit

CanYa Development

The CanYa Whitepaper details a very ambitious roadmap with tight timings. Currently we are on track with our new global app launch by the end of March, but we will be aiming to release a version ahead of schedule in February. We will release a Development Update & Roadmap announcement soon.

Brand Refresh

In order to deliver a user-friendly and intuitive platform, it is important to have a crisp and clean User Interface. For this reason we have prioritised the CanYa brand refresh and incorporated it from the ground up. The new design direction will ensure we keep a consistent branding across both the CanYa and Bountysource platforms moving forward.

CanYa-Hero-Image-NEW

Our design team have been working hand-in-hand with our dev team to ensure that CanYa remains a “design focussed technology company“. The new brand direction can been experienced across all of our social platforms, our website, whitepaper and all of our marketing.

Some of you have already noticed that our website (canya.io) has been completely refreshed. This has been done to align with our broader brand refresh and the new look is consistent with the themes of the new CanYa platform!

Market Research

The CanYa Team already have experience with designing apps (iOS, Android and web-apps) and we have applied the lessons learned while we move forward with updating the CanYa platform.

We have not taken anything for granted however and we have engaged with extensive product and market research to ensure that we leverage all of the fundamental expectations that come with P2P service marketplaces.

CanYa Web-app

The wire-guides for the web-app platform have been mapped, the User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) has been prioritised and we are busy building on our solid foundation. We have completed basics operations and are growing out the supplementary features that will make CanYa fully functional. Our dev team is steadily growing and we are well positioned to keep to our ambitious timeline.

CanYaCoin and CanYa Web-app mock up

Bountysource

Bountysource.com is an active platform with a passionate and dedicated open-source community. A separate design and dev team have been assigned to optimise this platform with the following priorities:

  1. Update the UX/UI of the platform and incorporate the contemporary CanYa branding.
  2. Integrate CanYaCoin and other cryptocurrency payment layers into the platform.
  3. Introduce Bountysource to the cryptocommunity and enable this existing platform to become the go to place for all blockchain and smart contract creation/auditing.

We have also received a number of requests from some big companies who want to post crypto bounties to Bountysource. This is a huge opportunity that will cement Bountysource as a powerhouse of the crypto community.

This side of Bountysource will be completely powered by the CAN token creating a strong natural demand for the token on our listed exchanges.
